The 5 Questions To Ask Yourself Before You Start Decorating...

Once you have decided to re-decorate, it is a common mistake to dive-in head first and start buying pieces. However, I cannot stress enough how important it is to stop and really think about the space and plan it out before you make any decisions.

By doing this, you can avoid some costly mistakes, and wasted hours heading back to the shops to return those pieces you have decided don't actually work!

To get a clear idea of your space you can start by asking yourself these questions:

  1. How do you use the room/want to use the room?

  2. How do I want to feel when I walk into the room?

  3. Who will be using it? Adults? Kids? Pets?

  4. Will I be entertaining in this room?

  5. What are my limitations when decorating this room? Limitations may include the size of the space, your budget and physical access to the space when having items delivered.

Once you have answered these questions, you can build your framework and start on the fun side of choosing styles and colour schemes.
